Yeah, the sheer number of planes scrapped is very sad. They should have at least left a bunch out in the desert covered up!

On one hand, I understand that the citizens gave the planes to the military to fight the war and there was a reasonable expectation at the time that they get the resource back. On the other, I really want a B-17.
